Stewart Nivison - Head of Indirect Tax, Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting

Stewart Nivison is Head of Indirect Tax at Thomson Reuters for Europe, Middle East and North Africa. He has 25 years of experience in leading and executing tax technology services in Europe, including the development and establishment of the Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Software. Stewart has worked extensively with large multinationals, including developing tax determination software solutions, establishing indirect tax engines, and managing the implementation of tax-efficient supply chain management systems. He has also led audit training for the public sector, and advised government on how to utilize tax technology to identify unpaid taxes.

Andrew Hay - Global Head of Statutory Reporting for Tax & Accounting, Thomson Reuters

Andrew Hay leads Product Management and content for Thomson Reuters' Global Statutory Reporting tool. Prior to this Andrew had 8 years at PwC where he led software implementations and content development in Australia.

Bert Brys - Head of Tax Policy Unit, Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development

Bert Brys is Senior Tax Economist, Head of the Country Tax Policy Team, and Head of the Personal and Property Taxes unit in the Tax Policy and Tax Statistics Division of the OECD’s Centre for Tax Policy and Administration. He joined the OECD in 2005. Within the OECD he has worked on a broad range of taxes, tax indicators and tax policy design topics, including personal income taxes and effective tax rates on labour income, property taxes, corporate income taxes, political economy issues of tax reform, taxation and economic growth, and taxation and skills indicators. Prior to joining the OECD, he worked on tax issues for the Flemish regional government in Belgium.

Eugene McQuaid - Strategic Advisor, International Development Ireland (IDI), Saudi Arabia

Eugene C. McQuaid is a senior macroeconomist with the Saudi Arabian government and IDI, responsible for strategic investment planning, public fiscal and financial management, public debt management, private sector development, and economic diversification. Eugene is also a PFM Advisor and economist with the Fiscal Affairs Department at the International Monetary Fund.Eugene has 23 years international experience as a macroeconomist and advisor to CEOs, Ministers, Heads’ of Government and has counseled international stakeholders including the IMF, World Bank, United Nations and European Commission. He specializes in pubic financial & fiscal management, private sector development and natural resource & hydrocarbon energy management.

Pierre Arman - Market Development Lead for Tax & Accounting, MENA, Thomson Reuters

Pierre Arman is the Market Development Lead for Tax & Accounting at Thomson Reuters, and is responsible for the strategy and product management of all Tax & Accounting and Global Trade Management solutions in the MENA region.Pierre’s main responsibility is to drive market and product development in the region whilst defining and implementing the regional product localisation strategy. An experienced consultant in the tax technology consulting field, Pierre has been involved in global tax technology projects, spanning over 127 countries both in implementation and project management.Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Pierre’s worked for an Actuarial Consulting firm where he focused on optimizing the tax position of HNWI and UHNWI’s pension arrangements between Monaco and London.

Finbarr Sexton - Head of Indirect Tax, Ernst & Young Middle East

Finbarr Sexton is a Partner with Ernst & Young Middle East, and the indirect tax service line leader for the Middle East and North Africa region. His clients operate in a broad range of industries, such as oil and gas (both upstream and downstream), power and utilities, engineering procurement and construction, real estate, marine activity and financial services. He is responsible for the development of indirect tax training for the MENA region and also for thought leadership contributions on indirect tax. He has conducted VAT and customs training courses across the region. He has advised a number of governments in the region on tax policy initiatives including VAT, petroleum fiscal regimes and customs, and global trade agreements. He has also advised on the trade programmes in the MENA region, including the impact of free zones and free trade agreements.

Eduardo Vitor - Market Development Lead, Global Trade Management, Thomson Reuters

Eduardo Vitor is the Market Development Lead for Global Trade Management at Thomson Reuters. He is responsible for product management of ONESOURCE Global Trade which enables companies to be in command of their entire trade process through technology and automation. Eduardo has a degree in computer engineering and has worked as a programmer and software engineer in the field of import / export. He joined Thomson Reuters in 2013 as part of the Softway acquisition. He is presently in charge of the expansion of the Global Trade proposition, including import/export control, special programs, free trade agreements, trade finance, and restricted party screening.

Erdal Aydin - Tax Inspector at the Ministry of Finance, Turkey

Currently he works as a tax inspector at the Thin Capitalization, Transfer Pricing and Offshore Income Group of the Turkish Tax Inspection Board. Mr. Erdal AYDIN started to work at the Turkish Tax Inspection Board in 2008. He conducted a large number of tax investigations of the largest corporations of Turkey in a wide range of sectors including Banking & Other Financial Instutitions, Automotive, Construction, Media, Health, Holding Companies, Retail Industry, Airline Industry, etc. Mr. Erdal AYDIN holds a bachelor's degree in Public Finance from the Ankara University and a master's degree in Accounting and Finance from the Oxford Brookes University. Additionally, he holds some licences, such as Capital Market Activities Advanced Level Licence and Corporate Governance Rating Specialist Licence.

Ersin Nazali - Managing Partner, Attorney at Law, CPA, Former Tax Inspector

Ersin Nazalı, who is the managing partner of NAZALI is an expert in law and tax areas. Ersin Nazalı, who worked as tax inspector for nine years under Revenue Administration, is expert and has a considerable knowledge in several tax areas especially tax inspections, tax litigation, transfer pricing and tax free re-structuring of companies. As of August 2012, he works as tax consultant and attorney in private sector and he is currently working on his PhD Thesis named, "Transfer Pricing from Tax Perspective" in İstanbul University, Fiscal Law Department.

Dr. Nasser Saidi - Founder and President, Nasser Saidi & Associates

Dr. Nasser Saidi is the Founder and President of Nasser Saidi & Associates, and acts as an adviser to governments, central banks, regulators, multinational and regional companies. He is a member of the IMF’s Regional Advisory Group for MENA, and Co-Chair of the OECD’s MENA Corporate Governance Working Group.

Some of his former posts include Minister of Economy and Trade of Lebanon, Minister of Industry of Lebanon, Chief Economist for Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, and Member of the UN Committee for Development Policy (UNCDP).

In 2013, he was named among the 50 most Influential Arabs in the World by The Middle East magazine, for the fourth consecutive year, and named among the 500 Most Powerful Arabs in the world by Arabian Business.  

He the author of numerous articles and has written a number of books and publications addressing macroeconomic, capital market development, and international economic issues in the MENA region, GCC countries and Lebanon.

Antonio De Gregorio - Head of Tax & Accounting, MENA, Thomson Reuters

Over the last eleven years, Antonio has worked across a broad range of roles at Thomson Reuters. He moved to the Middle East in 2008, first as Middle East & Africa, Head of Client Training, then as Head of Account Management for Majors and later as F&R Business Manager for Middle East & North Africa. Prior to his current role he was Managing Director for Zawya, a business acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2012.


Antonio’s background is in software development. Euroserver, a software company he founded in 1996, developed Testmania.com, one of the first Italian information platforms for consumer electronics. Subsequently, he moved into the financial information industry in 2002, as Head of Sales at the Advanced Information Management Software company, a financial information integrator based in Vienna.


James Swenson - Head of IntegraScreen Operations & Delivery, Thomson Reuters

James Swenson is the Head of Operations and Delivery for the IntegraScreen business, a division of Thomson Reuters responsible for proving Enhanced Due Diligence services to clients worldwide. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and has substantial experience designing due diligence programs complying with FCPA, UK Bribery Act, AML, and supply chain risk management.
